Before Covid, we used to hold such events twice a year - in spring and autumn - so that all interested patients and their family members could attend an open lecture and learn more about eye conditions such as Glaucoma and Cataracts.
The last time we held a similar lecture in person was back in 2019, with 140 attendees. Finally, we were able to revive this tradition.
During the meeting, I gave a presentation to the patients, explaining how different eye conditions progress and why it is important to timely consult an ophthalmologist. We also discussed more practical issues, such as the impact of lifestyle on eye health and demonstrated the correct way to instill eye drops.
At the end of the meeting, participants asked questions that concerned them. Those interested also underwent preliminary vision diagnostics performed by ophthalmic surgeons from the Ophthalmology Department of City Hospital 4.
